Parent Involvement
Parents are always welcome at our school. Beacon Hill Primary has a strong and caring parent body who work in conjunction with the staff of our great school. You are invited to support your child's education by participating in any of the following activities.
In the Classroom
Teachers often call upon parents to assist them in the classroom. Usually our teachers require parents to take a small group for activities such as reading or to help a child who needs extra practice. If you can spare some time for about half and hour a week you can make a huge difference. Teachers will let parents know via The Beacon or through the class newsletter which comes out once a term or during the Term 1 parent/teacher meetings.

Class Parents
Each class from Kindergarten to Year 6 has at least one parent who acts as the link between the class teacher and the parents.
How Does It Work?
The class parent makes contact with other parents of the class to coordinate such things as welcoming new parents to the school, assisting the teacher with parent helpers, collecting and collating notes regarding excursions and transport, etc.
A list of contacts and phone numbers will then be distributed amongst those who wish to become involved.
Are You Interested?
Watch out for more information in The Beacon and at the Term 1 parent/teachers meetings.
Visiting Our School
We are conscious about school safety and security. Staff and students have this as a basic right.
All visitors to the school must report to the office and sign the attendance book. A visitor's badge will then be issued. Upon completing your business, return to the office where you will sign out and return the badge.
Parents who wish to speak to a teacher must make an appointment at the office, by phone or sending a note. The teacher will then arrange a convenient time.
