Sport

Beacon Hill's school community is proud of the outstanding achievements of its students in individual and team sports. We have strong and proud traditions. We have first rate facilities for a primary school; just look at our gymnasium/multi-purpose centre!

Daily Fitness

Morning fitness sessions are held regularly during Terms 2 and 3 usually involving all students in a stage.

Home Sport

Home sport focuses on providing a variety of activities for children with an emphasis on fitness, skill development, sportsmanship and enjoyment. Children in the younger years engage in gross motor skills like jumping, skipping, throwing and catching whilst the older children participate in sports such as beach volleyball, tennis, softball, Rugby League and Eagletag to mention but a few. Children are proud to wear their sports uniform. Friday is our sport day.

We have four houses divided as follows:

House Colours
Blue Mackellar Yellow Warringah
Red Cook Green Phillip

PSSA

Interschool Sport (PSSA) children love to represent their school. At Beacon Hill we are big enough to offer all the sports yet small enough so most can experience it during their school career. This is certainly true for those children in stages 2 and 3, who may try out for selection in the school's team sports such as swimming, athletics, cross country, tennis, cricket, softball, T-ball, rugby league, soccer and AFL. Our foyer proudly contains a vast display of trophies and pendants as competition winners.

Gymnastics

At Beacon Hill all children participate in a great gym program within our gymnasium. Trained instructors provide an expert program designed to address all aspects of gymnastics.

Swimming

Year 2 students who are not proficient swimmers or non-swimmers may participate in this important program which is conducted by qualified instructors at Warringah Aquatic Centre.

Sport Carnivals

What a fantastic sight it is to see an Athletics Carnival in full production at the Academy of Sport. You can watch a child running a track event as a twelve year old competitor, and see the exhilaration of success on their face or capture the moment of a five year old going for gold in the egg and spoon race!!!

The Swimming Carnival and Cross Country Carnival are enjoyed by all as well. Parents cheer on their children as they do their best.

These are events not to be missed and bring the entire school community together.
